OBLIVIOUS

Oblivious is a bunch of stoners from Linkoping, Sweden, who plays melodic stoner rock with a touch of classic rock n’ roll based in the 70’s. Influences include such great bands as Dozer, Kyuss and Clutch, as well as older heroes like Black Sabbath, Pentagram and Led Zeppelin. In their five years of existence, they have recorded four demos and done countless gigs in the south east of Sweden. They have opened for kick ass bands like Dozer, Fingerspitzengefühl, Graveyard and Witchcraft among others.

The more recent Oblivious history begins in late 2003 - early 2004, when Daniel (guitar) and Per (bass) joined original members Isak (vocals) and Sven (guitars) for some tasty jams. At first Daniel played drums, but switched to guitars after about six months. To fill the spot, the band recruited Daniels and Pers long time friend Jocke. That proved to be a stroke of genius. With Jocke behind the drum set, providing a much needed heaviness along with incredible groove, and Daniel on second guitar, balancing Svens technical, progressive riffs with his own more rock n roll influenced style; the Oblivious Sound started taking shape.

Since then, the band has played every kind of gig known to man, while continuously freshening their live set with new kick ass songs and recording demos at least once a year. Their third demo, aptly named Masters of Time, got the attention of the guys at Transubstans Records and their fourth effort, named Hand in hand with demons sealed the deal in March of 2009.

The band recorded drum and bass tracks in Gothenburg’s Studio Brew house with their old compadre Linus Andersson during the spring, the rest of the instruments in their home town of Linkoping during the summer of 2009. The album, named Goons and Masters, was released in early November.

Years later, the band returned with their second album "Creating Meaning".
